A Wood of Our Own

Yesterday (27th February 2013) CGDT was invited by the Forestry Commission to make a presentation on our acquisition of Stronafian Forest at their quarterly “Wood of Our Own Event”.

This was a gerat opportunity to talk about the successes, the innovations and the potential pitfalls of purchasing a forest in a back-to-back commercial leasing deal as we have. The presentation, given by Charles, seemed to be well received, but the trip into the woods on a bright, cold and still day was a delight.

The Development Trust will be holding a forest day towards the end of April to introduce the community to our wood properly. Watch for more details here!

In the meantime,  here’s visual evidence of members of the Forestry Commission Scotland, CWA and Attendees exploring the woodland above the Clachan.
